Translating to "The Art of Kicking and Punching," Taekwondo has been developed for thousands of years following the history of Korea. This martial art trains the body and mind, and helps the student access peace. Our classes range from 3 years old and older.

GYM RULES -Obey your Parents. -No fighting! Don't hurt anyone.  -Do your homework. 1. Bow, before and after entering the gym. 2. Bow first to your master then to your instructors or blackbelts.  3. Be loyal to your country, chapters and masters.  4. Respect your seniors at the gym (higher belt). Do not criticize.  5. Love and protect your brothers and sisters, Do not fight!  6. Finish what you begin. 7. Help your parents do chores. 8. Help those who are in need.  9. Wear your dobuk neat and clean.  10. No chatting while class or training is going on.  11. Raise your hand or ask permission if you have a personal necessity. 12. Help keep your dojang neat and clean. 13. When entering the dojang, shoes and slippers are not allowed on the mat. 14. No profanity inside dojang. 15. Students must address everyone with manners. 16. Food is not allowed in dojang.  17. Personal hygiene is essential.  18. Never complain of activities given to you by your instructor.  19. Help your classmates when needed.  20. Everyone must join class regularly. 21. Never spar without permission from instructors. 22. No jewelry in class.  23. Turn around when fixing your uniform.

Meaning, Tenets, Code of Conduct Meaning of Taekwondo TAE - means to kick. KWON - means to punch. DO - means the art or way. Tenets of Taekwondo - (S.M.I.P.E.) Self confidence, Modesty, Indomitable Spirit, Perseverance, Etiquette Code of Conduct: Obey God's law, Obey your parents, Obey your teachers/instructors, be loyal to your friends, be patriotic to your country and never retreat in battle.

Belt Definitions: White belt - Signifies purity, no knowledge of taekwondo. Yellow belt - Signifies caution, the beginning of knowledge in martial arts. Orange belt - Signifies enthusiasm, passion, happiness, creativity, determination, encouragement, and stimulation. Green belt - Represents the growth of the seed as it sprouts, it symbolizes the student in wearing some new and refining basics skills. Blue belt - Symbolizes maturity, as the student begins to stabilize their power and develop focus to their studies to achieve their goal. Purple belt- Represents the stability of blue and the energy of red, it symbolizes power, maturity and ambition. This time the student has their goal set to be a black belt. Red belt - Signifies power, accuracy and growth Brown belt - Brown belt signifies harmony, it is the perfect combination of skills and conduct. Black belt - Black belt represents all of the belts colors combined at the highest stage, it's the mastery of technique.
